US-Mexico border

US-Mexico border

Today I wanna talk about a novel I have read a moment ago. The novel I'm gonna present you is a thriller which take place at the border between United States and Mexico. In the novel "Taken" from Robert Crais there are basically two groups of people. On the first hand the narco traffickers who are at the head of a group of smugglers. They lead a place close to the border. On the other side the immigrants who are the merchandise of the Coyotes. There is a traffic of immigrants at the border. From there immigrants become hostages . The bajadores steal drugs, guns and people buying and selling victims like commodities and they kill the ones they can't get a price for.

Jack Berman and his girlfriend Krista Morales fall into the hands of criminals who kidnap immigrants who just crossed the border and the smugglers require them a ransom. Later on they are sent to a house all together.

Krita's mother who is worried hires a detective, Elvis Cole and pray him to find her missing daughter. Elvis Cole investigate with the help of Joe Pike.

I found "Taken" plot very captivating, it's a novel that when you are reading it you keep your breath on. Moreover, the plot deals with a currently topic with the US-Mexico border, south of america is populate by a majority of latino who coming from south of america.
